For the last three months, I’ve been working on making Globally Ghetto a brand, with lots of ups and downs. I am taking a path which I have no knowledge of. This scares the shit out of me, especially now that I’m in the last stages. I have a clear idea of how I want it to look, how I want it to feel but not I am not sure if it is going to be exactly like how I imagine it. I just can’t wait to launch it and share it with you.
You probably want to know what I am talking about, I will show a bit to give you an idea. As I mentioned before, I decided to make a brand out of Globally Ghetto, I found a wonderful fabric online that really inspired me. Without properly thinking it through I decided, on the advice of a friend to unleash my vision on it and just do it. From the first day I started, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong.
Being young, broke and working to become a fab-facilitator (facilitator in fabulous things) is not easy. There have been many of times in which I got so frustrated I wanted to destroy things (the postal office) and times I just wanted to give up. But I pushed through and made it through the last stages. And it is precisely at this time my anxiety starts to act up, I start to doubt my ideas which are annoying because it slows down the process. Luckily, I found out that this is a normal process, it seems that our minds are designed to talk down on new ideas and new paths. This all because we hesitate and when we hesitate a stress signal is sent to our brains and we stop doing it.
I found a woman called Mel Robbins who came up with a 5-second rule, you count back 5 seconds when you hesitate to do something that will better your life. You have to check this out if you have a habit of worrying or anxiety video…
I am going to try different techniques to keep me on the path. For now, I look forward to all the things that can go wrong and fix it and I will use this phrase to keep me going until I find the best techniques to stop hesitating: If it doesn’t scare you it isn’t worth, that’s what I say to myself.
Do you have a technique that you use to stop hesitating? Leave it in the comments.
