Last Monday I was at the inspiring Modefabriek in the RAI!! And it was Amazing!!!! The Modefabriek is an annually two days business-to business trade event for unique fashion labels that started in 1996. I was invited by Leontine Wagenaar, a fashion consultant and trend forecaster at Spizes and Nabila Harboula, the founder of FP Academy*.
*FP academy is an agency that organises educational trips to inspire future professionals and connect them with their future oppertunities on a international level.
This year programme contained a summer school about summer trends, future generations, pop up retail and ALL ABOUT THE SHOES!! Of course I attended the All About The Shoes school, recommended by Leontine, with guest speakers Jan Jansen, Lilian Sanderson and my new shoes hero Amber Ambrose Aurèle.
What did I learned? I learned that, Shoes make the man, but for women they are pure Prozac! No seriously. The Guest Speakers shared their own journey as high end shoe designers. They also shared their inspiration and the copy and paste culture in the fashion industry. I also received good news for all the high heel loving queens!! High heels are coming back!! After a year of two sport wear trends and comfortable sneakers we can soon enjoy high heeled shoes with their elegant owners stumbling on it while looking FABULOUS!! Hurray!!To keep you ahead of the trend I will be posting the Ultimate guide of shopping high heels next week. Subscribe and get a notification when its online. [mc4wp_form id=”2251″]
Next to a summer school, experts from different sectors, (marketing, social media and so..) shared their knowledge. Non of which I attended, I was running back and forward with Di Zhao looking at the trench coat expo of the Atelier Reserve, the interior expo Current Mood, this years denim award winners Anbasja Blanken and the four fashion shows in the … wood. There was so much to do and I haven’t even started on the brands that were there. For example the awesome wooden bow ties and accessories from Bewooden
If you have a website/shop and/or if you love fashion and like to buy a ticket for € 17,50 that includes 4 fashion shows, crash courses from experts, expo’s and next season trends in shops, then next years Modefabriek is the place to be.
