I often get sad walking through the streets looking at a sea of people wearing black and dark blue. Every time I see this I ask myself, “why aren’t people wearing colours?”. There are so many colours in the world, why wear black? The remarkable thing is that people generally wear black or dark blue in the winter which amazes me. One would think that in the darkest time of year one would wear colours to brighten the day, given the longer darker days, the winter blues and the other winter ailments.
Colours have a great impact on our psyche, such as the colour yellow which symbolises cheerfulness, intellect and energy, however it’s also known to cause people to become angry quickly (so, just watch out when you wear yellow!). While the colour black is associated with being secretive and mysterious it is also suggested to give people protection from external emotional stress. Colours evoke emotions and this is a known fact in the advertising world and something you can use for your own benefit in your daily life. If you are feeling low on energy, inactive or dullness wear red! It gives you energy, symbolises passion, ambition and determination.
Writing about the colour red I realise that a red notebook could motivate to do my homework…
What I am trying to say is: WEAR COLOURS!! especially in the winter. Not that there is anything wrong with wearing all black, however, consider a pop colour like the pink in the picture of me below. Pink stand for silliness, girly, nurturing and unconditional love.
